Which species do I choose for a deck in a Flemish garden?
For Flemish decks we offer mainly hardwood, Douglas fir and thermowood. Hardwood offers the longest service life (20 to 25 years), Douglas fir is the classic and cost-efficient choice, and thermowood gives a stable board that weathers naturally to silver-grey. The right choice depends on the garden’s aspect (sun or shade), style and budget.
Does Bear Wood lay the deck as well, or only deliver?
We are first and foremost a timber merchant and adviser. For laying we work with regular partner landscapers from your region. Request your quote and we will put you in touch with a reliable fitter if you wish.
Does a timber deck need maintenance?
Untreated hardwood, Douglas fir and thermowood weather naturally to silver-grey — maintenance-free. If you want to keep the original warm colour, we recommend a decking oil or UV-filtering treatment, renewed annually.
Do you deliver for small decks, or only large projects?
Both. Whether you are planning one small city-garden deck or a complete outdoor space — you get the same quality, the same price per m² and the same advice. Smaller orders can be collected from our showroom in Dendermonde.
